VOLUNTEER FOR REC SOCCER

You Bought the Hoodie. Now Volunteer.

There are several ways to get involved with the Santa Cruz City Youth Soccer Club. With such a large number of children playing in the Recreational League the club depends on parents and other adults to volunteer as coaches, team managers, or referees.

Coaching

To volunteer as a coach, assistant coach, team parent, or board member, check a volunteer box on the registration form, or contact the Recreational Coach Coordinator if you are interested.  Coaches get $75 off the next season for their child's registration.

Each year all SCCYSC Coaches and Assistant Coaches must complete the Cal North Risk Management Registration Risk Assessment. New Coaches are required to print out the Livescan form and bring it with a picture ID to Santa Cruz Livescan. Returning coaches who have been fingerprinted in the last two years only need to complete the Risk Assessment Form.

More information about coaching and fingerprinting will be available when registration opens for the Fall Recreational Soccer League.

If you are interested in coaching in the rec league, you can register here.

Referees

Referees and Field Set-Up Staff are paid positions.  Referees can make $25-$35 per-game and have a flexible schedule.

SCCYSC occasionally runs clinics for new referees. Becoming a Referee provides a great opportunity to support youth sports, a place to share your passion for soccer and a way to earn money while doing so!

Licensed Referees

Licensed referees (with a valid license for the season) please contact the club by email to fill one of the paid positions.

Sponsorship

Sponsoring a team is a great way for a business or individual to support soccer and get your name into the community. Sponsor an entire team with a $300 tax-deductible donation and have your business name printed on the team uniforms.

More information about sponsorship and our current sponsors can be found here.
